Developmental Therapy:

Play-based therapy for children ages 0-3. Developmental Therapy works with infants and children on global development such as cognition, socialization, speech, self-help, and motor skills.

For infants, our therapists will work with your baby to teach them core fundamental skills to build off of. Such skills are imitation, object permanence, means-end play, problem-solving, and cause and effect.

For older children, our therapists work on your child’s unique needs and goals to become school and life ready. Your therapist will incorporate learning tactics through play-based therapy, to work on both child and adult-directed activities. Such activities include improving matching and sorting skills, number concepts, size concepts, symbolic play, socialization, self-help skills, and associative concepts.

Our highly trained and professional therapists have experience in the following areas:

  • Cognitive Delays
  • Social Anxiety
  • Down Syndrome
  • Delays due to Premature births
  • Behavioral Challenges
  • Autism Spectrum Disorder
  • Sensory Processing
  • Learning Disabilities
  • Genetic disorders
  • Motor Planning
  • Fine Motor Delays
  • Speech and Language Delays

Evaluations:

If you believe your child would benefit from Developmental Therapy, you can request an evaluation to be performed. All evaluations take place in the home or another natural setting for the child, with the family present. We will ask you a series of questions, as well as perform an assessment via play.

Our therapists will look at your child globally, and asses any potential areas where support may be needed across the following domains: cognition, motor skills, socialization, speech and language, and adaptive development.

After each evaluation, your therapist will discuss what was covered during the assessment, the outcomes, and provide their recommendations. If therapy is recommended, they will develop a specialized therapy plan, as well as set clearly defined goals that are based on a personalized set of strategies for your child. A written report of your child’s assessment will be provided to you within a few weeks. All evaluations are paid in full by the state of Illinois, however, appointments must be made. If interested, please contact us.
